It's been a great season for hunting and our customers tell us how Hunter's Specialties products have helped them to be successful. Be sure to check out our Photo Gallery for more success stories!

I just wanted to pass along my thanks to you for manufacturing the “Squealing Hen” Turkey call.  My son, daughter and I have hunted turkeys on our lease in Georgia for about three years now with no success.  Close, but no success.  This year has been vastly different.  This season my son and I were able to take our first turkeys and I honestly believe it was partially due to your call.  In both our hunts the gobblers hung up and wouldn’t come into range either to be seen or shooting distance.  Once I used the “Squealing Hen” call all that changed.

Calling for my son in March of this year, using a Remington 870 20 gauge he harvested his first turkey at 25 yards.  The turkey weighed 22 lbs and had a 9.5 inch beard with 1/2 inch spurs.  He must have hugged me 5 or 6 times thanking me for taking him hunting again this year.

Three weeks later, with him calling for me in the same area where he harvested his turkey, I was able to take my first turkey using a Remington 870 16 gauge at about 25 yards.  In both cases the birds hung up and wouldn’t come any closer till I used your call.  The turkey I shot had 5 hens with him!  The pictures tell it all.

I’m taking my daughter the last weekend of April when she comes home from college.  Hopefully we’ll be able to add to this story.

Thanks for your time and for making a great product.

This past year i killed a buck that scored 194 &1/8 . I have a bunch a trail cam photos of him. I hunted him for 3 years, but I never saw him while hunting. I decided to try a different scent killer, Scent-Away. My friend is the game warden here and he would laugh at me for spraying so much on. I'm glad I did because It worked!! I finally got my big buck!! I was at the NWTF convention in Tenn. this month and talked to Wayne Shaw, one of your field staff men. He was a very helpful person!!

Johnny Stewart vs. Foxpro. My friend and I were hunting in a local predator comp. and had borrowed a FX3 to try it and see if I wanted to put out the money for it. Everything was set up--Foxpro and decoy about 40 yards from us. After 2 min we see a set of eyes in the edge of the woods, but it would not come close enough to shoot. Then it started to move but was still staying out of range. It went all the way across the field, sat down and just looked at us. That's when I went back to the truck and got out my Johnny Stewart PM-3. As soon as I turned it on, the fox (grey) started coming back across the field right to us. Then a red showed up right behind us. We got the grey but the red busted us. We tried the same thing a few more times that night with the same results.

The Kruncher. Dear H.S.—Okay, so I thought it was just a gimmick to get me to buy something. It was $9 at Walmart, so what the heck. I first tried it early OCT in Ohio when I saw some does moving in to me. I didn’t scare them, but didn’t seem to bring them any closer than 28 yds. I shot one of the does with my Matthews.

Later in OCT after watching a large buck leave me—I tried grunts, snort weeze, crunching—nothing worked. Then 10 or 12 does blew into the woods from where the big buck had gone. After 20 min they grouped back up 100 yds away, and eight of them meandered past me at 40 yds and began hopping a fence into standing corn. Then I remembered the Kruncher was in my pocket, so I started some light crunching after 6 of the 8 were in the corn. The first crunch got the last 2 to turn their heads and look. Every time they looked away I hit the Kruncher lightly and they would look. Soon the last two turned toward me and took a step. I knew then I had ‘em! As they moved toward me all six in the standing corn came back!! Finally all eight were within 25 yds, and two more came from behind me and were right under me. As I began to raise my Matthews to take the biggest doe, movement from my right was a large 9 pt buck coming into the does. I nailed him!

Mid-NOV in Indiana I began crunching when I heard deer moving just below me on a ridge line. It was late and deer started popping out too far away. Just as I decided it was too dark and too far to shoot, a giant 9 pt popped out at 15 yds staring at the source of the crunching. Nailed him!!

Finally back in OHIO last 2 days of the season, the does were very spooky, and heavy crunching ran them off. But one evening 6 were 100 yds downwind in a woods along a fence row. I was all scent-locked up and began crunching. After 20 min I figured they had winded me and gone, but I saw a leg move on the trail coming to me. All 6 came in and I nailed the first one at 22 yds.

I’m a believer, and my huntin’ buddies all have Krunchers now! Thanks.

I just wanted to thank you for making a great product. I have used your Scent-a-way product for years and it has helped me kill some nice bucks.

On October 18th I was hunting in my favorite stand when the buck of a lifetime came by. The wind was blowing in the direction he came from, but he didn't have a clue I was there. He grossed 164 and for north central Arkansas that is a monster.

I just wanted to tell you about your "True Talker" deer grunt.  I bought my True Talker about 7 years ago at Walmart.  I have used it every time I've been in the woods.  It's one of the few and maybe the only products that I can say actually "works as advertised".  You can soft grunt...you can doe bleat...you can use it to dominate buck grunt...it does everything you need.  It works just as good when it's 5 below zero as it does in early September when it's in the 80's.  It does not "bang or rattle" because someone was smart enuff to design it with a protective coating which also keeps your hands from freezing when you use it in cold weather.

I have grunted in many deer both bucks and does along with several coyotes while predator hunting.  It is the one item besides my bow or gun that I WILL NOT go into the woods without.  The "TRUE TALKER" works and I can prove it to anyone, any time or anywhere! Thanks for a superb product.

Took this 8-point from the ground sitting on a bucket about 10 yards from a used trail. I showered with Scent-A-Way Soap. Used Scent-A-Way Clothes Wash. Sprayed down with Scent-A-Way Spray and put Doe-in-Estrus on the bottom of my boots and sprayed it on a scent wick. Used the Fresh Earth Wafers. He came down the path I just walked down and stopped 10 yards broadside at the scent wick smelling the doe in estrus. Thanks so much for making such great products and again this year it has brought me fantastic results.

I just wanted to say thanks for making a quality product,we have been using your product lines for several years now in Maine. My dog Zack, had a little problem with a skunk this morning, he chased the skunk off, but got sprayed real good. I made up a small bucket of warm water with the shampoo in it,(just after he got sprayed) and lightly wiped him down with the shampoo, then dried him off. But thanks to your shampoo I can't tell he got sprayed at all. Zack thanks you and my wife thanks you. Zack wanted to pose for a picture with your product and send it to you, so I let him.

Just wanted say " Thanks"! What a great call. I have been using the Lonesome Cow Call for a few short years now, and have called both cows and bulls fairly close but not close enough. This year different, called my cow from over 100 yds to 40 yds and drilled her!!! Awesome! Again, THANKS!

I want to share a couple pics of my opening day buck with you. I shot this buck at 12:42pm, 30 yards, on the ground, and upwind of him here in Nashville. Your Scent Away spray is (as always) perfect. I've used HS products exclusively for about 15 years now. Your Vita-Rack minerals are by far better than any minerals I've ever used. This is the 5th year in a row where I've combined the Acorn and Apple and the deer LOVE it!

Chuck Dodd, Nashville, TN

I've been bowhunting for 38 years and harvested my best buck ever this season using one of your products that I tried for the first time this year. I have in past years used Scent Away Spray and Laundry Detergent. This year I bought 2 bottles of your body wash, one for home and one for camp. What a difference! I was never busted this season even with deer downwind. I am impressed. I try to watch the wind, natural air currents, wear scent blocking clothes and use sprays. During the rut and just before I like to use a doe in heat scent. I have to believe your soap made a tremendous difference.

The buck field dressed at 200 pounds and my taxidermist rough green scored him at 142. Not too bad for an eight point. Thanks again for a great product,

I just wanted to write to you and thank you for the supreme products you supply to hunters. A hunter for 28 years, I've used Wildlife Research (Brand-X) and by far the Scent-A-Way product I used out performed any other. I recently arrowed a nice 9-point buck from 10 yds. and he didn't have a clue I was even there. I used Scent-A-Way Fresh Earth Advanced Formula Model 01176 to do the job, spraying myself head to toe before entering the woods. It worked perfect. Keep up the good work!

My mock scrape (the one to the right of this small tree) was made with the complete Hunter’s Specialties box kit, including buried scent wafer, synthetic soil, dominant buck urine, and the lick-N-stick sprayed on branch above. I made the mock scrape at 11am and there was a big buck at the spot less than 8 hours later!! And the deer kept coming all week right to that branch I sprayed with Lick-N-stick. Awesome to lay out scent and get a big bruiser there communicating right away. Thanks for a great product. I plan to use it again every year!

I have been using your products for years now with good results, but this past week I had something happen to me that i thought I had to share with you.  On Oct. 29, I got up extra early to hunt a spot I had not hunted before.  As I made my way to ridge in the dark, I opted to set down against a large pine tree over looking a small valley.  Just as day started to break the squirrels got active, scurrying about, making their usual noises.

Then I heard a noise that I knew wasn't a squirrel.  I looked over my right shoulder, to see a deer coming up over the top of the hill.  I took my gun off safety, as I watched the young buck coming closer.  I was hoping that he would continue to move farther to my right.  But instead when he came across my trail, he instantly started coming straight towards me.  He was coming at a steady pace, and all that I could do is sit still and hope that he would turn away so I could raise my rifle and get a shot.  Needless to say, he didn't turn away, instead he came right up to me.  He couldn't figure out what I was setting there against that pine tree.  In a matter of seconds, he walks right to me and puts his nose to my elbow.  I was staring eye to eye with a beautiful six-point buck.  He took a couple sniffs of me, turned and ran off.  He wasn't scared, he never snorted or blew, and as he ran off he never raised his tail.  I didn't get a shot because this whole adventure took place in about 20 seconds.  I have been using Scent-a-way for years and will continue to use it.  This is one product that really does work.  Thanks for helping me have a amazing adventure in the deer woods.

I have always used HS products but I have recently purchased a true talker. Well let me tell you this call works. I called in a beautifull 8 pointer from apprx 200 yards out. soon as i gave him a hit of the tru talker he came running I subsequently arrowed the brute. I have tried lots of other grunts but none are as realistic as the True Talker. I Wish I wold have had my friend with me today who usually video tapes my hunt as this would have been one hell of an adversiment of your calls. If you were only there to see what I am talking about.

Thanks HS,

On Thursday 11-13-08 I went on my last bowhunt before the Missouri rifle season began. I had walked into this particular piece of property carrying my climbing stand. I had some difficulty finding a tree in the dark that would be suitable. When I did find the tree and got hooked, I spray the Hunters specialties premium doe estrus all around the area that I had walked through. Approx 1 hour later I had a nice 8 point walking through. As he approached I stood with my bow but he detected movement and looked up. He starred at me for a while but I could tell he got a wiff of something as the wind was swirling. I am sure he smell the premium doe estrus urine as he forgot about me and continued on in for an easy 20 yard shot. Premium Doe Estrus saved my hunt. Thank you for a great product

I thought you might like to see this pic i captured of a mature 8 pt. (from Southern Indiana) over a mock scrape using your Primetime Premium Doe Estrous lure. He was shot 2 days later and scored in the 140"s.

Thanks for a great product and I will be using more in the future!!!

Just wanted to thank you for the great product! I use Scent away every time I hunt. I am a bow hunter from central Ohio. I went out for the first time this year on 10-12-08. I had 3 different bucks directly down wind and none were able to pick up my scent. Unfortunately none were shooters but never the less it was an awsome morning and thanks to you they never knew I was there. There are a lot of products out there and I must be honest that I started using yours because of the price and I am certainly impressed. This was not the first time your product has hidden me but it was the first time I was compelled to contact you. You have a great product at an extremely economical price. I use only Scent away and no other cover scent. Keep up the great work.

Good Hunting,
Scott Bausum

I have used your products for about 10 years. Everything from your turkey calls to your scent products. And I am sorry to say that I switched to Dead down Wind scent eliminating spray at the begining of the season. I figured I would try it out but what I found out was that I wasn't seeing many deer at all. So I switched back to your Scent-a-way spray, and I killed a deer that very next day. I would like to tell you that i will never switch again, and keep up the good work so I can kill more deer.

Thanks,

Okay, I am a novice with a call of any kind, But I bought the QuadGrunter Plus this year to try my hand at calling. I took the call with me one morning of the Archery hunt. It was a slow day with only a few does passing by when I decided to try the call and watch a does reaction. I slipped the call out of my coat and blew on the wrong end which sounded exactly like a warning , She gave the same call back and ran off (I was not kidding about the novice part). However, on the third day of firearm season a 10 point Buck passed my stand without giving me a clear shot, after he went out of view I again pulled out the QuadGrunter Plus and blew on the correct end .He turned back, crossed a ditch, and walked within 30 yards . Thanks to all of you for helping me get me biggest Deer to date with this great product. I won't hunt without this call in the future.

I harvested this buck in mid-September using your Scent-A-Way and your buck lure. This deer green scored 222-1/2 and net 201-1/8. It's the best I've seen in my 25 years of hunting. I plan to continue using this product.

I don't get much time to hunt , but thanks to your scent blocking and UV color blocking I harvested a small buck on the first day of the West Virginia "Buck Only" season. I never really believed in scents and things of that nature. I always thought that you had to be in the right place at the right time, although that is true , that's only part of the equasion. Early in the bow season I purchased the set of clothes wash, dryer sheets, clothes bag, deodorant and soap. I got a good deal on it.......I figured if it didn't really work I wouldn't be out that much.....As time went by I didn't get much time to really hunt just an hour or two here and there.....But when the Buck Only rifle season came in I had a day off .....yes a whole day.....LOL.....I washed my clothes and used all the accessories went out the next day and sure enough here he come ....... I shot and missed........ But I let things settle back down and used your doe bleat call and here he came right back .....This time I let him get closer ......So close I could almost here him breathe .....He never knew I was there .....Nothing tipped him off .... He couldn't see or smell me.....I was very impressed......So I just wanted to say Thanks and keep up the good work.

Dear Hunter's Specialties - Thanks for such great products. Before every trip into the woods, I wash all of my clothes in Hunter's Specialties laundry detergent, shower with Hunter's Specialties soap/shampoo, apply Hunter's Specialties deoderant and spray all of my gear with Hunter's Specialties Scent-A-Way. I can't say enough about your products. When I come in from the woods my wife says I don't smell like anything at all. She says it's weird, I couldn't be happier.

I had two does come in and bed directly underneath my treestand. One of the does laid down right where I stood to place my climber treestand on my tree. The two deer laid underneath my treestand for two hours before getting up and walking down to the field.

Thanks again
Garrett Boop

I arrowed the best buck of my hunting career November 15th, at 7:45 a.m. - a 9 pointer that should net about 125-130. The buck walked past me without a shot opportunity to my left and started walking away. He didn't stop at my verbal calls, so I called him back in from 40 yards to 30 yards. He came back in, but directly down-wind of me! I thought for sure the game was over, but after scent checking the area with his head up for a few seconds, the only thing he became interested in was your Primetime Natural Doe Urine product that I put out 30 yards down-wind from my stand earlier that morning in a mock scrape. This allowed me a great shot chance at 29 yards and that was all it took.

Thanks for a great product.

I had the worst day bowhunting that I ever had today. Driving rain and 30 mile an hour north winds really tested my endurance on the stand. I hunted a little 3-acre oak patch for the first time. I had a doe and 2 fawns bed 50 yards from me in the morning and then move mid-day to bed in the fence row.

My worst day changed in what I feel is one of the most amazing things I've witnessed while bowhunting.

With about 15 minutes of light left, I saw a buck working a scrape 300 yards away on the other side of the field. The wind was really blowing and he would never hear my grunt call, so I snort wheezed as loud as I could.

I swear, this buck stopped working the scrape and RAN across the field right at me. By the time I put the binos down and grabbed my bow, he was circling downwind only 80 yards away. I lightly snort wheezed again and he headed straight into the woodlot to my left. It was getting pretty dark and I heard him grunt, but I lost track of him. Then, I saw him running a doe that must have still been bedded on the fencerow. He found her first while coming to me. I really feel that he would have came straight into the woods to me if it wasn't for her.

All I have to say is WOW! That turned my worst day ever into a real learning experience that made the all day sit well worth it. I still can't believe that he ran all the way across the field like that.

I'm not going to use the call much. Only in situations when grunting doesn't work and I've spotted a good buck. I am of the opinion that it has it's place and time. I'd imagine in post-rut, it would scare off alot of bucks that just want to rest by then.

All I know is that I won't go into the woods without this call now. It's really mind-blowing when something works to that affect this call did. Thanks for coming up with such a simple yet affective hunting tool.

The Hunter's Specialties original laundry detergent is a wonderful product. I started to use this product about 4 or 5 years ago. I only used it for my husband's hunting clothes. It's a little expensive, but it works wonders. My son started playing football about 8 years ago (he was about 9 years old at then) coming home with "stink to high heaven" practice pants, jerseys, t-shirts, etc. For years, I tried everything from baking soda, vinegar, Pinesol, and other name brand products that CLAIMED to take oders out of clothes but none of them worked. After the clothes came out of the dryer, they still had a musty smell, yuk. I read on the Hunter's Specialties laundery detergent bottle "also ideas for:" and decided, "why not, it can't be worse than all the other stuff. The first time I decided to give your product a try was when my son came home with a pile of practice clothes that he had left in his locker for about 3 WEEKS. I thought I was going to have to throw them all away. To my surprise the musty stinky smell was gone! I was VERY impressed. This is the first and only product I've used on his practice clothes since.

Thanks again for a great product. I use it all through the year.

A big thanks from the small towne of Larwill, Indiana.

I just wanted you to know I just started using your products this hunting season and am very impressed. I used your natural doe urine scent and have gotten a nice eight point buck and have seen eight more bucks that were drawn by the doe urine scent. I have never seen that many bucks out were I have my tree stand. All the bucks were looking for a doe. thanks just wanted you to know I will keep using your products. I have tried many scents and none have worked as well as this one. Thank you.

I just wanted to tell you that I use your de-scenting products, shampoo, soap, deodorant, laundry soap, dryer sheets, scent-a-way spray and earth scent wafers. I recently harvested a deer with my bow and was within 17 yards of the deer and they did not smell me at all. This is not the first time this year that has happened (my stand is 17 yds. from the trail) and I feel totally confident that when I use these products, I will be not be scented. I have used your products for years and would highly recommend them! Just wanted to let you know that you have great products.

I am writing to you to express my total satisfaction in your new Butt Out tool. Being an avid whitetail hunter I have field dressed many deer each time fighting to get the anus completely removed with out rupturing the urine gland and suck. I bought the Butt Out and was kind of skeptical about it till i got my first deer of the season. I used the tool and was so amazed and impressed with it that I'll never be caught without one again. It was so easy to use and did a very complete and satisfactory job. Thank you for making my hunting a lot more simpler. My compliments to your company and the Butt Out tool.

Gregory Van Patten

I just wanted to tell you guys the the "True Talker" is the best call I have ever used hands down. I have called in more deer in the 3 years of having it then the 17 years before it. It's just that good. A friend witnessed me calling in a monster buck last year and he switched right away. This year we both took our bucks with the "True Talker".

I just wanted to write to express my over whelming satisfaction with the Earth Scent line of your cover scents. I have been using them since they were introduced. During the last several years I have used the wafers, dryer sheets, and the spray. After washing my clothes using HS detergent, I store them in a container with several earth scent wafers. This is usually over night and by the morning, my clothes smell totally of fresh earth. By doing this and hanging several on my pack, I've had deer walk within feet of me while hunting a ground blind and walk directly under my stand with out smelling me. Keep up the great products!
