Nathan Currey-Olathe, KS

Monday the October 4th, 2004 a buddy and I started our 4-day hunt outside of Ft. Scott in Southeast Kansas at our friend's farm.

With no action the first day and a half, I was excited to see fresh sign around a tree stand I hung last year by some acorn trees. I sat all afternoon doused in Scent-A-Way, praying I would remain undetected. Just before dark I heard something big going a different direction from me. I used my grunt call and before I knew it the deer was at 13 yards eating the acorns by my stand, no clue I was there. I knew he was the right one and put the arrow right on and I heard him crash to the ground seconds later, just out of sight.

What an awesome experience. When I finally stopped shaking, I got out and back to the house to get the search party. We found him with our flashlights 50 yards from where I shot him. What a buck!
