Quincy Droigk-Gladbrook, Iowa

I purchased a True Talker three years ago while residing in Texas but had little success with Texas whitetails.

I recently moved to Gladbrook, IA and gained permission to hunt in Montour. I had never hunted standing crops and misplaced my stand 40 yards too deep in the edge of the woods. So I was helplessly watching 10-20 deer a day walk by without providing a shot.

As it grew close to the rut I decided to break out my call and give it a try. I had results! I was totally amazed at the response. Does would burst out of the cornfield and look intently for the fawn I imitated. Fawns would seek out the origin. Bucks would come just short of range though.

One chilly morning Oct. 26 I saw a doe run from edge to edge and right by my stand. I then saw a mature 8 pt, 7-year old buck break through the same edge, looking for the doe. After a quick look with my binoculars, I grabbed my call and gently gave a doe bleat. He shot his ears my way and to my surprise, started to trot my way.

He came into the edge with rut on his mind and I stopped him at 15 yards with a challenge grunt and the enclosed picture tells the rest.

I am also wanting to convey to pro staffer Greg Miller that thanks to his book on scrapes and rubs that I would of never chosen this spot. All the signs of a funnel were present and I put them to my advantage and since then I have seen six 8-pt. bucks, three 10-pt. and too many smaller bucks to mention, and a 12 pt. monster buck with a split G3 antler. So far he stops for the True Talker but doesn't come into range. The closest I can get him is 50 yards.

In conclusion, your cover scents, soap, shampoo and especially the True Talker have aided me in taking my first archery trophy. I shall continue to firmly and loyally use and promote your products and believe without them, the buck in the photo would not be mine.
