Steve Criner of Bolivar, Missouri has been hunting for over 20 years. He started hunting deer and turkey and has harvested numerous turkeys and mature deer throughout the years as he became interested in calling wildlife at a young age. He still remembers running around the country side chasing deer, turkey, and squirrel with his grandfather as a young boy.

His early start of hunting and calling wildlife sparked a huge addiction to predator calling. He called his first fox at the age of 16 with a Johnny Stewart Jackrabbit in Distress tape and his first coyote with the Johnny Stewart 512 and Cottontail in Distress tape shortly after. This passion for predator hunting has taken him through an immense and trying journey for the past 15 years. Not having the internet or predator hunting seminars in the area where he grew up, he had to learn on his own and overcome the huge learning curve that new predator callers encounter. This fueled his enthusiasm to teach new callers through video productions and writing outdoor articles that have been featured in some of industry's top predator hunting magazines.

Steve was given the opportunity to be a field pro staff member in the spring of 2007 for Hunter's Specialties and has since become a full-time Pro Staff member. Since joining the H.S. team he conducts seminars all over the country and films for the Operation Predator and Primetime Bucks video series. Along with hunting and filming Steve also writes outdoor articles that have been featured in some of industry's top predator hunting magazines.

During Steve's career as a predator hunter he has spent most of his time hunting in the Midwest. He has logged as many as 200 days calling in just one year and has called in as many as 76 coyotes in Missouri in one season. Along with this accomplishment Steve won the 2010 World Predator Calling Championships and also hunts in several different coyote hunting contests, such as the St. Francis and has a top-10 finish under his belt at the World Coyote Calling Championships in 2008.

Steve has also been featured on numerous radio and outdoor TV shows such as Hunter's Specialties Outdoors and Babe Winkelman's Outdoor Secrets.
